QUALIFICATIONS: Alabama Teacher Certificate

Minimum 5 years successful teaching experience preferred

Preference given to current employees

Knowledge of current trends related to instruction and technology integration

Knowledge of resources to support technology integration (i.e. infrastructure, hardware, web tools, etc.)

Evidence of technology integration into content instruction

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

implementing the instructional program through technology integration

To ensure the appropriate implementation of the local

school Title I plan

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Collaborate with teachers to support their use of technology in delivery of curricula through a variety of instructional methods. In partnership, the Technology Integration Specialist and teacher will work toward integrating the use of hardware, software, and Internet resources in support of student learning.
  2. Create learning resources for teachers, staff, and students. These may include Web sites, tutorials, interactive programs, and databases that support teachers in integrating technology.
  3. Structure the technology education of teachers.
  4. Communicate and implement appropriate pedagogical decisions related to learning theories, instructional methodology, and technology integration.
  5. Investigate and communicate current trends in technology integration to all stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrate familiarity with methods for integrating technology into the curriculum for instruction (i.e. digital tools, online resources, etc.) and assessment (i.e. digital portfolios, student response systems, etc).
  7. Demonstrate technical competence in equipment maintenance, integration, and troubleshooting.
  8. Maintain skills in computer software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, Web Page development, presentation, digital video and audio editing, and image processing.
  9. Support teachers with the integration of various instructional techniques and activities that promote positive student interaction and provide appropriate practice of skills focusing upon the desired learning outcomes.
  10. Model lessons for teachers integrating grade level objectives, technology, and 21 st century skills.
  11. Assist with appropriate preparation/analysis/support for improvement of SAT/ARMT/AHSGE/ADAW/DIBELS/Benchmark/other scores.
  12. Observe in classrooms with the express intent of identifying teacher strategies that can be enhanced in order to improve instruction.
  13. Track instructional plans in order to ensure consistent, quality instruction.
  14. Assist administration in monitoring Response to Instruction; coach teachers in appropriate Response to Instruction techniques; provide small group intervention lessons to students.
  15. Ensure that appropriate procedures are followed to create the local Title I plan.
  16. Implement all aspects of the local Title I plan as required by federal law and local policy.
  17. Coordinate parent involvement activities such as parent workshops and trainings; attend parent conferences to address student academic progress, grade level expectations, and assessment data.
  18. Conference with Principal and Coordinator for the purpose of monitoring instruction as well as identifying target areas in need of in-service attention.
  19. Fulfill professional responsibilities beyond those exhibited in the classroom to include participation in school co-curricular programs, school/district program improvement efforts, and community/parent groups.
  20. Coordinate all parent involvement activities at the school in accordance with the TCBOE Parent Involvement Plan and the school parent involvement plan.
  21. Plan for events to educate parents and maintain their involvement in the education of their child.
  22. Perform other such duties as required and/or assigned by the Principal, Coordinator or Director.


EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 192 days. Salary based on the Teacher Salary Schedule
