The Datacenter Telemetry Ecosystem team develops, deploys, and operates highly available service s leveraging power and cooling telemetry data for dynamic programs supporting Microsoft's Cloud and are looking to hire a Telemetry Ecosystem Service Engineer - Dynamic Capacity Platform . These services and solutions power the digital transformation of Microsoft's global datacenter fleet and are integrated across org anizations to inform and optimize datacenter capacity, operations, and sustainability.   • This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.
  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.


Responsibilities:

  • You will troubleshoot, provide service support, maintain , and manage critical-environment electrical , mechanical, and ancillary system telemetry platforms and services supporting our global fleet of datacenter s.
  • Working closely with engineering and partner teams , you will repair and maintain dynamic power management and grid interactive services utilizing high speed/high availability telemetry platforms , and support development of services and repair procedures to meet defined requirements.
  • P rioritize , forecast, and align resources and schedules while managing strategies and obstacles across teams.
  • P artner with telemetry service engineering, software development, datacenter operations, IT service engineers, and Azure service teams to develop and maintain telemetry service programs .

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2 + years of experience designing, building and /or operating high performance, scalable IoT-centric telemetry systems and /or services.
  • 2 + year s of experience in data center or other critical infrastructure including power, cooling , physical network s , technical operations, and /or building management systems (BAS, EPMS, SCADA).
  • Professional experience in Industrial Process Control, Critical Environment Automation, or IT Service Management process frameworks ( eg. ITIL) including service improvement, incident management and/or root cause analysis.
Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and influence peer teams.
  • Proficiency in prioritization, resource planning, budgeting and contract ing in a small team environment
  • Proficiency in enterprise office applications for creation of processes, schedules, reports, and business intelligence visualizations
  • Demonstrated e xperience in High Speed Telematic systems and/or networks
  • Demonstrated e xperience in commercial software/product development
Service Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
