The Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing care for patients in the Center for Infertility and Reproductive Surgery Outpatient office.
• Working collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must have:

Education:

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required for newly licensed nurses.

Experience:

• A minimum of two years of recent (within the last three years) experience in an ambulatory setting is required.
• Reproductive endocrinology / IVF / fertility ambulatory office experience, with an experience in co-managing IVF cycles is required.
• Management of the GYN Surgical patient population is preferred.
• Experience in team-based care is preferred.
• Experience with triaging patient phone calls is strongly preferred.

Other:

• Membership in professional organizations is recommended and, certification in a specialty area is encouraged.
• Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

The RN must show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients. Must demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities. Must be able to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills. Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials such as chemotherapeutic agents, radioisotopes, and radiation. Work entails walking and lifting. Lifting, Pushing and Pulling Policy Statement (effective 3/7/20111): The Department of Nursing has adopted the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)-recommended maximum weight limit of 35 lbs. for lifting, and a reasonably comparable standard for pushing and pulling, as part of the physical requirements for this position.
