General Statement of Duties
Work in this classification generally includes activities such as skilled typing, screening calls and visitors, organization and daily maintenance of a comprehensive filing system, and operation of office equipment. Demonstrate initiative in all work and be able to make independent judgments in accordance with established practices and guidelines. Deal with sensitive or confidential materials on a regular basis and responsible to the administrator to whom assigned.
Essential Duties
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school and experience in a clerical position, including some office assistant experience. Knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic; skill in typing; ability to read, spell, proofread, organize, use the phone, listen, understand and follow directions, write legibly; ability to schedule and coordinate meetings and conferences, ability to interpret written materials and to communicate verbally; ability to learn the policies, procedures and services provided by the administrator to which assigned; ability to verify data; accuracy, tact; good judgment.
Additional Information
This position is open until filled. This is a temporary position of no more than 29 hours per week . Work Schedule is assigned by the supervisor and/or Department Director.

- Answers telephone and screen calls
- Greets visitors and screen appointments
- Types forms, letters, and reports from rough draft
- Receives, sorts and distributes mail
- Operates office equipment
- Attends meetings
- Sets up and maintains files alphabetically, numerically and/or chronologically
- Handles or assists with special assigned projects
- Maintains ledger of accounts
- Maintains supervisor's calendar
- Engaged and on task
- Daily attendance
- Performs related work as assigned.
