In support of the U.S. Army's Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) requirements, the Test Engineer is responsible for software verification and validation, including test planning, development, execution, analysis and associated documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinates testing activities for various projects.
• Supports bug reporting and tracking and software test processes.
• Assists in the development of the test strategy in order to meet the release schedule.
• Adheres to established testing procedures.
• Responsible for defining test strategies, plans, procedures and reports.
• Responsible for writing tests, executing those tests, and reporting the results
• Initiates and analyzes problem reports and change proposals
• Ensures that hardware/software under test implements the functionality specified in all approved requirement documents and that it performs as expected from the customers perspective.
• Develops strong cooperative relationships with development, project management teams and manager to achieve end-to-end product quality.
• Designs, constructs and implements manual and automated tests that thoroughly exercise the product from the perspective of the customer.
• Assesses system and software level requirement specifications, software design, interface design, test, and other development related documentation as needed.
• Assists with implementation of the enhancements, including documentation, instruction and hands-on-training of others.
Required Qualifications:
• At a minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related scientific or technical discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in the same fields of study with 5+ years of relevant experience OR Associate's degree in same fields of study with 11+years of relevant experience.
• Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
• Active TS/SCI clearance (required) with the ability to maintain clearance.
• Must have knowledge of Government security policies and familiarity with security-related technologies and auditing tools.
• Five years test and evaluation experience on DoD intelligence or command, control and communications programs/projects.
• Five years of progressively complex experience in the testing and evaluation of DoD or IC intelligence systems..
Desired Qualification
• Knowledge of U.S. Army Geospatial Center (DCGS-A) architecture, systems, and requirements.
ADA Notations:
• Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
• Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
• Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
• Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk.
• Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
