Summary

Redwire Space seeks a Test Engineering Manager to lead our team in Littleton, CO. You'll drive engineering excellence, manage talent, and oversee testing for our groundbreaking projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Test Engineering across Redwire Space Sensors, Littleton, CO.
  • People management is intended to be 50% of the scope of work for this role, and 50% of scope will be in executing as a test engineer supporting test activities
  • Coordinate with program managers, systems engineers, design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality managers to ensure all aspects of the tests are executing to plan
  • Manage hiring, performance, mentorship, training, and career growth of Test Engineers and Technicians
  • Develop and manage employee schedules and resource schedules
  • Develop and execute test plans and procedures
  • Manage reviews of test requirements and data
  • Track program and cap-ex budgets for Test Engineering
  • Conduct root cause analyses, failure investigations, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Participate in proposal activity by developing execution plans, developing estimates for task execution, and reviewing project costs
  • Communicate status, critical paths, challenges, and recommended solutions
  • Drive process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with engineering leadership to evaluate new technologies to expand testing capabilities
  • Interface with higher levels of management for information flow
  • Act as a primary spokesperson for Test Engineering
  • Some limited travel may be required
  • Ability to support testing outside of business hours including overnight and weekends as program schedule dictates


Ideal Experience

  • B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field with a minimum 8 or more years' of aerospace/space industry experience
  • Experience leading one or more sections or a small department
  • 2+ years managing technical teams
  • Experience in project planning and execution
  • Experience with New Product Introduction, from requirements to product manufacturing and test
  • US Citizenship required; Littleton, CO based
  • Hands-on test engineering experience (i.e., EMI/EMC, Shock, Vibration, TVAC)

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in implementing continuous improvements
  • Experience in requirement derivation, verification, and management strategies
  • Experience specifying and using test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
