JOB DESCRIPTION:
To facilitate and assist in providing a quality program of instruction designed to meet the linguistic and cognitive needs of students in the Title I program. Work under supervision of certified teacher.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist Title I teacher in providing quality dual-language instruction for students.


2. Support and carry out activities related to the Title I program.


3. Perform duties involving the supervision of students.


4. Communicate with students, teachers, staff, and parents.


5. Present a positive role model for students.


6. Demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement.


7. Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.


8. Regular attendance.


9. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous work with children in job-related capacity or volunteer work


• Experience related to working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent. Experience may be work in church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed day-care centers, or similar agencies or institutions

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid Texas educational aide certificate (Must obtain within 30 days of employment)

• Ability to work well with others

• Appreciation of and patience with children
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Positive work performance regarding promptness, attendance, and productivity
