JOB DESCRIPTION:
Serve as a District Teaching and Learning Instructional Coach and staff developer for the Department of Teaching and Learning in the area of Elementary Mathematics at high priority Title I campuses. This supplemental position has been approved for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is 100% funded under the ESSA Title I, Part A program and will require time and effort in the form of biannual certification. In the absence of Title I, Part A funds and/or the needs of the district, continuation of this position can be rescinded.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrate excellence in job performance as a District instructional coach.

  2. Demonstrate in depth knowledge of the Conroe ISD Instructional Model and all best practice components in CISD SOLVES for at-risk students.

  3. Distribute current information on major trends and best practices in Math.

  4. Demonstrate commitment to the District instructional coaching position.

  5. Model consistent instructional leadership to the highest level.

  6. Demonstrate steps taken for professional growth.

  7. Understand the District's demographics and special programs (Bilingual/ESL, Special Education, Gifted and Talented) and provide authentic instructional strategies in such programs.

  8. Provide leadership and demonstrate an in depth understanding of CISD SOLVES in the generation of curriculum, instruction and assessment to prepare students for success on state assessments.

  9. Assist in the planning and delivery of professional learning opportunities to help raise the level of instructional performance of at-risk students.

  10. Demonstrate and support appropriate use of technology in the teaching/learning process for students and teachers.

  11. Recommend ways in which curriculum and instruction can be adjusted to meet the special learning needs of struggling learners.

  12. Assist in District-wide Professional Learning.

  13. Lead and participate in proposed and on-going curriculum projects and common formative assessment development.

  14. Perform classroom visits and model demonstrations of instructional best practices.

  15. Orient new teachers of at-risk students to instructional programs/curriculum in the content area assigned.

  16. Observe professional and ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency code of ethics.

  17. Develop original training, protocols and activities.

  18. Modify current staff development to specific audiences.

  19. Take initiative with curriculum, instruction and staff development activities.

  20. Use masterful presentation skills when training and demonstrate ease of performance.

  21. Evaluate the quality of available instructional materials.

  22. Develop curriculum to a high level of rigor utilizing research.

  23. Develop original ideas for curriculum and instruction.

  24. Effectively problem solve in difficult situations.

  25. Analyze District and campus data as well as provision of aligned instructional strategies/interventions.

  26. Develop cross curriculum and corresponding instruction.

  27. Create quality common formative assessments.

  28. Construct online professional learning training.

  29. Use current technology in an instructional setting.

  30. Create, plan, implement and assess Teaching and Learning products and projects.

  31. Work with at risk and struggling student to raise their achievement level.

  32. All other duties as assigned.

  33. Regular attendance.

  34. Maintain confidentiality.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three years of successful classroom teaching experience at a Title I campus

  • Experience in staff development presentations

  • Experience in development of curriculum

  • Experience in facilitating and/or working with teams (i.e. team leader, curriculum writing teams, etc.)

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education/Certification:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Texas valid teaching certificate
    • Mathematics certification in the grade levels assigned

    Special Knowledge/Skills:
    • Working knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and professional learning
    • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
    • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
    • Strong background in content area instruction and creating common formative assessments
    • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for at-risk students
    • Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
    • Thorough understanding of the various District early math assessment tools
    • Up to date training and thorough knowledge of CISD SOLVES
