Your Job

Phillips-Medisize is seeking a Tooling Engineer to join our St Croix Meadows facility in Hudson, WI to support a large amount of upcoming NPI projects as well as supporting the sustaining side. The Tooling Engineer will coordinate, direct, and lead all tooling activities to ensure optimum engineering of all programs and projects to meet customer and manufacturing requirements. Including customer interface, resolution of design issues, and working with other Phillips facilities in a courteous, timely and cost effective manner, as well as internal personnel

What You Will Do

  • Develop and establish tooling cost estimates, project options, and design alternatives to minimize tool build time and costs.
  • Establish and maintain vendor partnerships
  • Develop tooling manufacturing timelines and communicate progress to project engineer, program manager, and customer service representatives
  • Serve as a consultant to production / manufacturing on tooling related issues the current sustaining engineering team is struggling with
  • Ensure compliance with PMC standards in design, tool build, and tool build schedule
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation, corrective action and internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Occasional travel to customers and other Phillips-Medisize facilities


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • Five (5) years or more experience in a Project, Tooling, or Mechanical engineering position in the plastic manufacturing industry
  • Experience communicating with customers
  • Working knowledge of Solidworks software for Design Critiques


What Will Put You Ahead


    Five (5) years or more tooling experience in the molding industryExperience with tool build and design
