Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Environmental Planner 1, we'll count on you to:

• Work in a team setting to perform environmental assessments related to CEQA and/or NEPA clearance while collaborating with a team of technical staff to write reports and technical memos.
• Research and analyze technical environmental topics including screening constraints and opportunities to help determine findings in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Interest to work with transportation clients including Caltrans, FHWA, MTC, BART, CTA, FTA, FRA, FAA or other agencies and assist in completing the appropriate level of analysis.
• Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Environmental Science or related field
• Experienced in MS Office Suite
• Interested in transportation related projects: trails, streets, highways, transit, rail and aviation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present in front of clients and the public
• Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred
• 0-3 years of Experience
• Exposure to environmental analysis, CEQA or NEPA
• Experience working with Transportation and Transit agencies
