Execute Underwriting Training and Quality program focused on internal and external (agents with Delegated Underwriting Authority) alignment, supporting all lines of business, and accountable for delivering clear expectations that drive consistent results to support profit goals using a risk-based approach.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to collaborate with Underwriting Training and Quality Team peers, Leadership, various Underwriting Associates and cross-functional business partners for the skills assessment, design, delivery and oversight of the Underwriting Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) Audit, Training and Quality programs and strategy.
  • Possess necessary product knowledge to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more products while also supporting training and quality work for various lines of business (AMIG commercial and residential products, collector vehicle, motorsports, watercraft), as needed.
  • Build and deliver risk appetite and workflow process training curriculum for both internal and external associates to support consistent, efficient decision making that aligns with underwriting standards and company objectives.
  • Design and maintain the Underwriting Department materials storage framework.
  • Build alignment and consistency across DUA Agent Audits and internal Quality Control processes and procedures including overseeing and/or completing quality and compliance audits then summarizing and delivering corresponding results.
  • Build, maintain and adhere to training and quality schedules, standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
  • Research, identify, document and build action plans to resolve opportunities that improve quality, compliance and overall performance at the agency, team and/or department level.
  • Partner with Underwriting associates and cross-functional business partners to facilitate and support training and audit processes including enforcing consistency in Underwriting actions between internal and external partners.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting leadership to ensure best delivery methods leveraging SME's in the organization.
  • Serve as an Underwriting Training and Quality representative on cross functional assignments.
  • Support or lead various governance functions (ex. Compliance, IRM, and Internal Audit).


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Under minimal supervision, demonstrates ability to develop and support business cases. Affects change through the creation and implementation of risk management plans while collaborating with key stakeholder
  • 1 or more years experience developing, facilitating, and adapting quality reviews and/or training to various learning styles and environments -Experience and/or knowledge with audit, regulatory and compliance processes and guidelines
  • 5+ years underwriting experience
  • Experience with data gathering, financial analytics, and trend identification, preferred
  • Must have the ability to embrace and promote change


Preferred:
  • P&C insurance designations
  • CPCU or other industry coursework/designations, preferred
  • Certifications specific to quality, compliance, training and facilitation preferred
