Heritage Oaks Hospital is currently looking for a full-time Unit Coordinator to join our Nursing Team! The Unit Coordinator functions as an active part of the nursing unit team by providing clerical functions for their assigned unit. They act to ensure supplies, charting, patient transport and patient safety are all operating smoothly for their work area. Unit Coordinators work under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse.
  • Ensure timely filing of patient care documentation.
  • Provide continuous patient care and maintain safety of all assigned patients demonstrated by verifying patient safety continuously, every 5 or every 15 minutes on appropriate forms.
  • Communicate unit needs to either the Charge Nurse or Nurse Supervisor.
Schedule: 10am - 6:30pm

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience : One (1) year experience working with a psychiatric patient population and previous secretarial experience preferred.

Licensure: None.

Additional Requirements: Incumbent must maintain a current, valid certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) training (provided in-house) including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint, within the first 30 days of employment and required prior to assisting in the procedures. Incumbent may be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
