Responsibilities
Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.
In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women's trauma unit.

Social Services Unit Coordinator are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:
- Assists with notifying natural and professional supports of admission.
- Assists the Social Service Therapists with the discharge process, scheduling appointments, data entry and referral to next level of care.
- Supports the RED program by screening calls to the medication line, completing the call log and prioritizing or redirecting calls as appropriate.
- Organize departmental communication including monthly newsletter, updating PRN binder, completing meeting minutes, and organizing team events.
- Form maintenance including replenishing and filing necessary forms, ordering supplies, and ensuring completion of department specific documents.
- Orientation of new staff, interns and updating training binder as needed.
- Assisting with student educational needs on both adolescent and adult suites, communicating with teacher daily regarding admission and discharges, ensuring necessary permissions are in place, as well as any additional needed items.

What Does LBHH Require for this Role?
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Bachelor Degree in a Social Service related field preferred.
- One year of experience in mental health preferred.
