Job Duties

The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR) is a behavioral treatment center recognized for its excellence by securely housing and treating civilly committed sex offenders. Through timely, consistent, and fair and equitable program application, VCBR promotes self-recovery and self-determination of committed population. All contact between staff and residents are deemed therapeutic.

KSA's and or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
- Experience with basic bookkeeping/fiscal principles and practices related to maintaining a checkbook type record for patients required.
- Experience with office practices and procedures and maintenance of patient medical records required.
- Working knowledge of standard English grammar, punctuation and usage, and proper spelling required.
- Experience in an employment setting in typing and current office equipment and systems such as personal computer and software including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint which are currently being used required.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow oral and written rules and regulations and maintain harmonious working relations.
- Considerable walking and/or standing, sitting, bending, lifting, visual acuity to work with computer monitors and
printouts, and dexterity with hands to use computer keyboard.
- This position requires substantial resident interaction on a daily basis.

Minimum Qualifications

- Experience with Microsoft Office Software including: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Clerical experience in a treatment or similar setting involving fiscal duties and dealing with patients/residents.

Additional Considerations

- Experience with a forensic population preferred.
