Job Description Summary
This position will be providing support to the following programs: Pulmonary & Critical Care Clinical Research, COVID-19 Research, and Research in Advanced Therapies in Gastroenterology. Will be responsible for adhering to study guidelines, coordinating study visits, ensuring participants meet stringent clinical inclusion guidelines, provide education to patients and their families. This position may conduct study visits after hours and on weekends for enrollment into the COVID-19 and Critical Care trials. Additionally, incumbent will be responsible for maintaining study database, completing study documents, recruiting study patients, and preparing/conducting monitor and auditor visits. Some travel is required.

Employee will be expected to exercise discretion with limited oversight.

Job Description

Job Duties:

35% - Serve as study coordinator in the Research Programs Core: Obtain informed consent, screen and enroll study patients, conduct study visits as per protocol, coordinate patient visits, provide education to subjects, monitor adverse events and prepare serious adverse event reports, collect and process lab samples, dispense study medication to patients, conduct patient diary reviews, enter data and complete case report forms, and maintain all study documents.

20% - Assist with recruitment of research study patients on an on-going basis.

15% - Coordinate proper data management according to protocol requirements and compliance, i.e. collect and record all data pertaining to study patients on specific study and submit on time to research bases. Provide database support (design, implement, update and review for integrity).

15% - Collect and process lab samples that require specific training. These include phlebotomy, sweat testing, spirometry and EKG.

10% - Prepare for and conduct monitor and auditor visits for each study as required by sponsor, FDA, or internal audit.

5% - Travel to sponsor-initiated investigator meetings with investigator to review protocols for initiation and to review clinical findings during trials.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Prefer candidate with clinical trial and database experience.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and two years of relevant program experience.
