Job Description

FLSA: Salaried

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:30AM - 5:00PM, on-campus with possibility of partial remote work

Job Duties:
  • 25% - Develop annual media plan for NMVVRC and NCVC related to major events and deliverables; mass violence incident responses; and national victim-related communications and informational programs to promote both centers to a national audience using news releases, publications such as pamphlets, brochures, guides, tip sheets. Direct and supervise implementation of social media strategy in support of other media products.
  • 25% - Develop and implement an editorial vision for NMVVRC documents that are to be disseminated. This vision will range from ensuring grammatical accuracy to developing a consistent publication style and format. Provide editorial assistance with faculty contributions to the NMVVRC web site; assist Resources and Technology Division in web-based dissemination using content management system.
  • 15% - Supervise the development and dissemination of NCVC news and promotional information via the NCVC website, press release, or other relevant strategy, in consultation and coordination with NCVC mission (education, research, clinical service) leaders and the NCVC Director. Lead the development of brochures and other public/marketing materials for the NCVC’s training programs (psychology internship, post-doctoral fellowship).
  • 10% - Manage marketing and promotion of NMVVRC activities via Facebook, Twitter/X and other social media and traditional media communications for the NMVVRC and develop and administer these functions for the NCVCRTC; Serve as managing editor and produce NMVVRC and NCVCRTC quarterly newsletters for dissemination to relevant stakeholders.
  • 10% - Directs and oversees the activities of the Public Information Coordinator, assigning tasks and activities, providing professional development guidance, and providing performance feedback.
  • 5% - Serve as principal liaison between the Resources and Technology Division of the NMVVRC and the other NMVVRC divisions and outside stakeholders with respect to content development for the Center web site. The person will solicit input from other NMVVRC Divisions, partner organizations, and advisory groups about content idea for the NMVVRC’s website and social media channels.
  • 5% - Facilitate production (identify, contact, and schedule appropriate guests, prepare topics and questions for host and guests) of NMVVRC podcast; occasionally host podcast episodes if desired.
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned.
