Job Description Summary
The Research Assistant Professor will conduct faculty level independent research to study the pathophysiology of pediatric brain injury and hydrocephalus with emphasis on establishing improved evaluation and treatment solutions for pediatric patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting basic science and translational research using both in vivo and in vitro models of pediatric brain injury hydrocephalus, coordinating key collaborations, and obtaining grant funding. Will work closely with research collaborators in the Dept of Microbiology and Immunology.

Applicant must have a Ph.D. or M.D., at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience, with a strong background in the Neurosciences. The applicant should have expertise in grant-writing, a strong publication record, and ideally have experience training students and post-docs in the laboratory as well. External and MUSC internal candidates.
