Job Description Summary
The candidate will assist the Principal Investigator in supporting an NIH funded educational trailing program: Enhancing Diversity in Alcohol Research (EDAR). The individual will be responsible for supporting EDAR trainees, including doctoral psychology trainees in alcohol research. This individual will be responsible for program administrative support, including trainee support, scheduling, and program related data tracking and data entry. The candidate will also be responsible for supporting the Principal Investigator’s overall program of research (The Family Recovery Research Program, FRRP).

Job Description

FLSA: Hourly

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:30PM; on campus and hybrid (1-2 days/week remote work available after 2 months training and project/staff meeting milestones)

Job Duties:
  • 25% - Responsible for coordination, program design, and implementation for the EDAR program and program trainees. Responsible for daily administrative activities for the EDAR and FRRP programs.
  • 20% - Coordinate and prepare materials for weekly EDAR lectures for trainees. Develop and update materials for program meetings and reports (e.g. advisory board, biannual evaluations). Schedule other meetings and take meeting notes. Coordinate annual EDAR recruitment and team building activities at annual conferences.
  • 20% - Regularly track, monitor and record EDAR research, academic and clinical activities for current and previous trainees. Assist with the development of tracking reports for grant renewals and reporting. Use RedCap program to create and disseminate surveys to participants, advisors and others. Organize and present date collected. Use data to track program and trainee activities.
  • 10% - Provide communication and guidance to EDAR trainees and mentors concerning program issues and updates. Represent the EDAR program across campus and beyond and responds to requests for information in a professional and timely manner. Attend weekly didactics and meetings. Monitors EDAR trainee attendance.
  • 10% - Assists with program promotional content, managing website and social media pages. Create, update and implement program manuals and standard operating procedures.
  • 10% - Responsible for Program procurement and contracting. Purchase necessary supplies and services for Program implementation. Execute personnel contracts and agreements. Navigate MUSC procurement systems (OurDay, petty cash, WORKS, purchasing card).
  • 5% - Perform other duties as assigned.


Preferred Training and Experience: Excellent communication and organization skills. Interest in program area.
