Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to be a leader in Cognizant's Private Equity business in US in the capacity of a Value Creation Leader. This role will report to the Global Practice Head for Private Equity business unit and the ideal person should be capable of managing relationships with a diversified portfolio of private equity clients with portfolio companies across industry verticals. Value Creation Leader will lead, build and manage Cognizant's private equity business across select business units and private equity clients. Manage C- level client relationships across PE firms and their portfolio companies, collaborate with senior Cognizant leaders to drive value creation initiatives, differentiated service offerings, lead generation, large deals, engagement models and influence executive management as needed. This role requires leading high-performance and achievement-oriented teams that have delivered success. The role holder will actively engage the team to develop plans and resolve issues through collaborative problem solving across client base including marquee accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for building, managing and growing Cognizant's private equity business and relationship across select business units and private equity clients.
  • Responsibilities include establishing Cognizant as a preferred consulting, technology and services partner for the private equity firms, driving value creation initiatives designed successes of both the PE firm and the their operating companies, account planning, account mining, relationship management, people management, contracting, program charter and change management
  • Mentor Client Partner and Subject Matter Experts to achieve goals with efficacy. They are responsible for establishing and managing client relationships with key decision makers. They must be able to establish and build "trust" and leverage client context by understanding client's overall business goals.
  • Enable Client Partners to leverage prior experience to bring 'higher value' solution offerings. Must be a big picture thinker and bring a successful track record with building C- level executive relationships based on trust and respect. Must know how to build, guide, manage, mentor, motivate and reward teams in addition to set, deliver revenue/profit targets.
  • Monitor competitor and industry trends to strengthen go-to market position.
  • Understands customer perceptions to anticipate their evolving needs and address them with current or new services / solutions.
  • Influence peers towards investing in the right capabilities and ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes aimed at client satisfaction.
  • Leverage analyst and partner events to expand market opportunities for demand generation.
  • Lead through influence a senior team of Account Executives collaborating with delivery, integrated service lines, and corporate functions.
  • Optimizing business practices, marketing efforts, sales process, product development and pricing strategies within the Business Unit.

Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 20+ years of industry experience in a client facing role in an IT professional services or management consulting firm.
  • Proven leadership of managing Private Equity clients ecosystem with a track record driving high value creation initiatives and deals of

• Current/recent senior Private Equity Leadership expertise with specific industry background in the USA (global experience would be an added plus).
    • Strong, ability to network with third-party advisors, private equity firms, industry analysts and sourcing advisors, eco-systems partners particularly hyper scalers and platform firms.
    • Specific background as an industry thought leader with ability to deliver innovation and disruptive thinking within the Life Sciences industry.
    • Track record of interacting and building relationship with C-level client contacts..
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
    • Experience of leading diverse teams, experience of cultivating and collaborating in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Track record in building and leading diverse teams is essential
  • Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Experience
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Masters)
  • Proven ability to contribute to Business Unit growth and to lead and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Lead with a collaborative style and demonstrate executive poise and presence, with exceptional communication abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of business domain, technology, and services solution domains.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $251,000-286,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
