Department Description The UC Davis KSMP is the umbrella for three primary functions: veterinary student training in shelter medicine and surgery through a two-week clinical rotation; administration of a state-funded grants program to CA shelters; and outreach to shelters including consulting services and online training for shelter leaders, veterinarians, and staff. The Associate Director will oversee the outreach functions of the program and will ensure activities are coordinated with other programmatic activities. The selected candidate will work with direct reports to develop and track team-centered and mission-oriented goals and will also engage directly in shelter consultations and training programs in alignment with their area of expertise within shelter medicine. Working with the Director, the AD will develop and implement strategies to increase Access to Care in shelters, including establishing partnerships within UC Davis and externally to build the effectiveness, engagement, and satisfaction of shelter medical teams.
