Position Summary:
Provides support to our campuses including Methodist Medical Center, Proctor Hospital, Pekin Hospital through development of volunteer programs consistent with the direction of the organization. Establish ongoing recruitment campaigns and provide volunteer personnel to maintain ancillary support to enhance patient and employee satisfaction. Provides back-up team support on special projects and events of the HR team as needed.

  • Work may occasionally require travel to other Carle Health Peoria region facilities/hospitals.
  • Required to drive your own vehicle for business purposes.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
Multicultural sensitivityCritical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
Advanced reading, writing and oral skillsAbility to utilize PC including, basic elements of Windows environment, keyboarding, work with mouse, and perform basic computer tasks with instruction.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures that volunteers are prepared to fulfill their positions through orientation and ongoing training programs.Schedules candidates to attend new volunteer orientationWorks with staff to develop job specific trainingConsults with staff to provide integration of volunteers.Develops in-service trainingMaintains volunteer handbook through edits and updates
  • Demonstrates the ability to engage in planning activities that set the course of action for the volunteer program through goals, objectives and action plans.Conducts program evaluationsReviews volunteer assignmentsCoordinates schedulesEstablishes policies and proceduresManages budgetProvides appropriate record keeping activitiesMeets needs of volunteer staff; i.e. environment, space and equipmentDevelops professional skillsManages the activities necessary to accomplish program/project objectives through delegation and coordination.
