Job Duties
Virginia Military Institute is excited to announce we are accepting applications for a full-time Warehouse Forman in Facilities Management.
Job Duties:
• Responsible for the ordering, security and warehousing of maintenance materials, tools and equipment in support of the department maintenance and custodial teams.
• Oversee main warehouse operations as well as annex storage units.
• Ensure accurate counts with spot-checks and ensure computerized inventory system is properly managed with accuracy on all materials issued on work orders.
• Responsible for off-loading freight and materials ordered, stored in warehouse, and delivered on Post.
• Use computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to facilitate organization and inventory control.
• Supervise two full-time warehouse employees.
• Conduct Commonwealth procurement such as generating orders for goods and services, obtain quotes on materials, prepare purchase requisitions and invoices for payment, and maintain monthly budget reports required for recovery.
• Produce reports and correspondence using word processing equipment and perform data entry into MS Access database.
• Assist incoming calls and use radio communications equipment as needed.
• Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex storage or warehouse issues, such as distribution, quality control, inventory control, and safety regulations.
• Operate a forklift to offload materials and maximize storage space.
• This position is considered essential and must respond for emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
• Knowledge of office policies and procedures to include accounting procedures, and proficiency in computer software.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and communication skills.
Additional Considerations
• Experience with the Electronic Virginia system for procuring goods and services.
• Experience with Megamation and the Microsoft Suite.
• Warehouse operations experience or related fields.
