What You'll Do:

Champion Safety. Create and champion a strong safety culture. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and crew at all times in accordance with MSHA/OSHA and Vulcan standards.

Coordinate Schedules. Coordinate schedules and manpower of fabrication, erection, electrical, and water system on capital projects as well as inspections and repairs. Communicate schedules with appropriate stakeholders.

Ensure Cost Effectiveness. Design the most cost effective modifications to existing plants. Ensure that projects progress at an optimum level with minimal downtime.

Build Relationships. Manage and lead several projects simultaneously to ensure operational needs are met in a timely and accurate manner. Build strong working relationships with Division and Plant staff and personnel. Sustain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Travel. Travel to various sites across the region (up to 90%).

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education. Must have a high school degree or its equivalent. College degree preferred.

Functional Knowledge. General knowledge of pumps, plumbing fitting, and parts required. Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Must have welding knowledge.

Experience. Experience in supervising employees at an aggregate, sand/gravel, or asphalt plant is preferred.

Leadership and Management Skills. Must be able to provide strong leadership and guidance to employees, both direct and indirect reports, to motivate and maintain social relationships. Experience in being an excellent motivator and team builder in managing supervisors and
managers, alike.

Financial Knowledge. Must possess knowledge and experience managing financial performance to established targets.

Flexibility. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
