  • Plan, oversee, and coordinate activities concerned with development, design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Establish standards and policies for pollution control, installation, modification, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Direct maintenance of plant buildings and coordinate requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules.
  • Develop project objectives including schedule and cost requirements.
  • Prepare bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
  • Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
  • Coordinate with all departments when a process changes including USDA.
  • Maintain records for local, state and federal compliance.
  • Support/comply with all process safety management and risk management plan practices (PSM, MOC, etc).
  • Analyze facility operation processes for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Available and on call 24/7.
  • All other relevant duties to the position.


  • Vast range of certifications (electricity, HVACR, Ammonia, controls, building management, plumbing, etc.).
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other technical field with 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong electrical background.
  • Solid understanding of ammonia, cryogenic and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems, high pressure steam boilers, and large utilities like natural gas and electric.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design software.

  • Experience with Refrigeration PSM documentation.
