ABOUT THIS POSITION

Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the country, serving as Arizona's center of government, commerce, and culture. The City of Phoenix Water Services Department, one of the nation's largest potable water utilities, treats and delivers safe, reliable drinking water to 1.5 million customers across approximately 540 square miles.

The Water Services Department is seeking to fill a Water Project Coordinator (WPC) position. The WPC position will be part of the Water Services Department's infrastructure asset management team and will oversees the development and implementation of a high-performing utilities Asset Management Program (AMP), which will incorporate a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Duties will include:
  • Collaborates with staff and operating divisions to clearly identify and communicate the asset management program goals, expectations, and objectives.
  • Develops a defined program for sustaining the aggregate body of assets through planned maintenance, repair, and replacement.
  • Assists in guiding the operation and utilization of the CMMS for planning, scheduling, and documenting work activities of field staff.
  • Reviews data collection and management practices to identify opportunities for improvements by analyzing current system performance against industry benchmarks to ensure programs align with enterprise and asset management programmatic objectives.
  • Works and communicates with the asset management team to ensure consistent data type and qualities are captured and validated among all projects in the department.
  • Analyze technical issues reported by operations team and collaborate with the technical services team to solve the issues.
  • Assists with the development of asset end of life forecasting model and data collection tools.
  • Coordinates with the Geographical Information System (GIS) technical support team for system interface and integration with the CMMS system.
  • Updates project status and work progress for staff and management reporting.
  • Reviews drawings, O&M manuals, submittals, geodatabases, and other sources of data to update asset information in the CMMS system.
  • Defines codes and descriptions within CMMS system which helps in efficient usage of CMMS systems and reporting.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of asset management systems administration and database management, including preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater utility system design, operation and maintenance practices.
  • Skilled in writing spreadsheet formulas for data calculation, transformation, relationship purposes, and technical writing and review capabilities (e.g. policies, procedures, rules, and reports).
  • Ability to write test scripts and perform testing as needed.
  • Ability to define codes and descriptions within CMMS system which helps in efficient usage of CMMS systems and reporting.
  • Ability to utilize the CMMS for planning, scheduling, and documenting work activities of field staff.

SALARY

Pay Range: $72,966.40 - $118,872.00 annually.

Hiring Range: $72,966.40 - $107,806.40 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five years of professional experience in a water and wastewater utility ; Including supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus experience in/with the following:
  • Field experience related to operation of water or wastewater facilities.
  • Reviewing data collection and management practices to identify opportunities for improvements by analyzing current system performance against industry benchmarks.
  • Ensuring consistent data type and qualities are captured and validated among all projects in the department.
  • Identifying training needs and developing/implementing tailored training and development programs for a broad range of personnel.
