The position involves analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software programs to meet customer requirements using established development standards and lifecycle processes. It requires technical expertise in web-based IT solutions, Java development, relational databases, cloud platforms, and modern technology architectures.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and Designing: Evaluate requirements for digital transformation and technical integrations with third-party systems.
• Contribute to build vs. buy decisions and plan native code development.
• Design and develop software solutions, ensuring documentation and error handling.
• Development and Maintenance: Code, test, and maintain software solutions with a focus on error handling and performance improvements.
• Implement business processes and analyze performance for optimization.
• Research and integrate new technologies to enhance system design and security.
• Project Management and Collaboration: Plan and prioritize work schedules and project timelines to deliver business value in each release or sprint.
• Coordinate with project management and cross-functional teams to manage resources effectively.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and plan release cycles.
• Technical Leadership and Expertise: Lead cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions aligned with business, technical, and user requirements.
• Maintain technical proficiency through research, experimentation, and training.
• Establish coding standards and best practices for software development.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Subject Matter Expertise in Java and/or web programming, including JSP, Servlets, JDBC, web services, and modern web frameworks.
• Proficiency in relational database design (e.g., Oracle, DB2), SQL queries, PL/SQL, and APIs/microservices development.
• Hands-on experience with application servers like Apache Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server, or similar technologies.
• Developer experience in AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with various development lifecycles including Agile, waterfall, and others.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong object-oriented programming skills.
• Ability to manage project schedules, sprint planning, and the full development lifecycle.
• Excellent decision-making and communication skills for addressing customer issues and clarifying project requirements.
• Technical writing skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications and Additional Skills:
• Java Developer Certification(s), Oracle or DB2 Certification(s).
• Experience in UI development, particularly mobile responsive web design.
• Advanced knowledge of OWASP and familiarity with web application vulnerabilities.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline configurations (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Gradle) and source control tools (SVN or Git).
• Experience with SSL implementations, encryption methodologies, and security best practices.
• Ability to explore emerging technologies and recommend optimizations for technical ecosystems.
