The Reality Labs Wireless New Technology Introduction Team is looking for a research scientist to drive the state-of-the-art in wireless technology for AR/VR products.

Wireless Research Scientist Responsibilities


  • Research, develop and prototype wireless technologies for sensing and/or communication in AR/VR devices

  • Build strong relationships with product, research, and other cross-functional teams and execute on hardware and code deliverables

  • Develop hardware platforms and software infrastructure to accelerate research and development

  • Build technology demonstrations and communicate results to a wide range of audiences


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Prior research experience to one or more of the following areas: Electromagnetics and antenna technology (simulation tools such as CST and HFSS, characterization techniques) Radio-frequency systems (wireless communication, radars, SDRs) Signal processing and machine learning (DSP, wireless perception algorithms)

  • Experience in at least one machine learning platform (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, MATLAB Deep Learning Toolbox or equivalent)

  • 4+ years of experience in research


Preferred Qualifications


  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications

  • Hands-on experience with signal processing, data analysis, machine learning models, or platform development in radar, lidar or equivalent

  • Familiarity with VR, MR, and AR platforms

  • Experience communicating complex research in a clear, concise and actionable manner
