The Zone Maintenance Skilled Worker will perform inspections, maintenance, and repair work on building systems and components. This work is performed under general supervision using the tools and techniques of various technologies, including electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing. Licensure and Experience:
No specific licensure or certification is needed. However, at least one year of related work experience in a construction trade such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or mechanical is required. Time spent in trades programs may count toward the one-year work experience requirement.

Shift: 11 pm-7:30 am

Job Summary:
A high school diploma or GED is required. The candidate must possess basic knowledge of electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing tools and materials. Familiarity with safety rules, procedures, and practices, including proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards, is expected. The candidate is expected to identify, analyze, diagnose, and resolve minor maintenance problems, follow written material and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with supervisors and departmental/JHH staff. They need to assimilate JHH/departmental mission, policies, and procedures along with specific job safety aspects. The candidate must be adept at using all types of tools and equipment commonly used in various trades, including specialized equipment, common power benches, and hand tools like drills, grinders, and compressed air machines, as well as non-powered tools.

The role demands the application of trades and safety knowledge. The candidate must use tools and materials safely and demonstrate problem-solving and information management skills. At least at a high school graduate level, proficiency in written and verbal English communication is necessary to interact with departmental and JHH staff. Identifying and avoiding hazards as per warning labels, signage, lights, and other warnings are essential abilities. Performing work within reasonable time frames as measured against industry standards is also required.
