JOB SUMMARY:

Support the team in creating, planning, optimizing, and executing complex system and structural designs related to aircraft doors. This will include the support of new product development and sustaining designs and require coordination with multiple technical stakeholders.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies in-depth engineering principles to conceptualize, create, and communicate aircraft door designs utilizing CATIA software with an emphasis on 3D modeling and drafting to define schematics, layouts, parts, assemblies, and installations
  • Gather, develop, and manage requirements from internal and external customers to prepare trade studies and achieve design objectives
  • Prepare engineering drawings, bill of materials, specifications and functional tests to facilitate a cost effective, repeatable build
  • Conduct troubleshooting activities throughout all phases of the product lifecycle and support investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action
  • Support shop personnel during test article, prototype, and production build by providing engineering expertise for clarification, interpretation, problem solving and rejection dispositions


EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relative technical field

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks .

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
