Job Description
The University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks a radiologist for a faculty position in the Section of Abdominal Imaging at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. The section covers all aspects of Abdominal imaging, including CT, PET/CT, MR, Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, and image guided procedures, with faculty sub-specialization where appropriate. The department has 3T and 1.5T clinical and research MR scanners, PET/MR fusion, hyperpolarized MR, newest generation dual source/dual energy CT scanners, CT fluoroscopy interventional systems, and Ultrasound equipment with 3D, fusion, elastography, and contrast-enhanced capabilities. The Abdominal section participates in several multidisciplinary conferences and is heavily invested in resident and medical school education.
The University Medical Center campus has 1000 beds and radiology services are also provided for the adjacent Baltimore VA Medical Center and remotely for several University affiliated system hospitals and off-campus imaging facilities.
Expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher. Rank and tenure status is dependent on candidate's qualifications, and appointments to the School of Medicine will be made at an academic level appropriate for the candidate's experience. The University offers competitive salary and benefits, time for academic pursuits, and funding for continuing medical education. Applicants must be ABR certified or eligible, meet the requirements for Maryland licensure, and should have both fellowship training and research and/or education interests in Abdominal imaging. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's clinical, education and research missions. The proposed hire date is October 2023, or earlier by agreement.
