Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Director of Academic Division Space Operations (Director) reports directly to the Senior Director for Academic Space Operations and Special Advisor to the Provost on Academic Space (Senior Director). The Director is responsible for Academic Services Division space planning and operations and facilitates relevant committees and projects related to space operations for units including Research Administration, Student Academic Support, Student Life, and Academic Administration. The Director works with Associate Vice Provosts, Vice Presidents, and other senior staff in the Academic Services Division, other Central Administration leaders, and University Facilities to coordinate and manage special projects related to space and operations, including space use, space governance, and capital budgeting. Facilitating decision making, collaborating with internal constituents, creating policy for improved utilization and scheduling of student life and student academic spaces such as for instructional, performance, student activities space, as well as University executive administration space is an important aspect of this position.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $84,718 - $127,088 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Space Planning: With minimal oversight from the Senior Director, implements space standards across the Academic Services Division, with input from the Dean, Vice Provost, or Vice President assigned to the space. Ensures consistency with the University standards and strategies. Coordinates activities involving multi-division planning initiatives.
- Space Operations: Works with Academic Services Division leaders and Senior Director to ensure required day to day operations in student life, student support and administration. Works with facilities on facilities operations initiatives to support Academic Services Division and generally University missions. Ensures Academic Services Division units comply with URSpace space and equipment data inventory and maintenance.
- Capital Budgeting: Works with Academic Services Division leaders, advises and coordinates on division capital needs including capital projects with support by service providers RC Facilities and Planning Design and Construction. Translates capital needs into the budget process to develop metrics including, but not limited to: ROI and cost estimates.
- Capital Projects: Develops scope and manages all Academic Service Division projects under a defined dollar amount and/or up to an understood complexity under delegated authority of the Senior Director.
- Space Policy Coordination: Facilitates and participates in space-related committees including Wallis Hall Space Committee, EAMS, UR Space, and other committees to coordinate the consistent and efficient use of space and capital assets in the Academic Services Division.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Master's degree in higher education administration, business management, or a related field preferred.
- 8 years of relevant experience required;
- 5 years of experience in higher education administration or executive leadership roles with significant operational responsibilities preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience leading space management projects preferred.
- Knowledge of space planning, design, and construction required.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial management, and process optimization required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve organizational goals required.
- Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders preferred.
- Knowledge of current trends and challenges in higher education, including regulatory compliance and accreditation standards preferred.
- Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure required.
- Familiarity with technological advancements and their application in higher education operations preferred.
