Accounting Manager

Overview

Insight Global is seeking an Accounting Manager for a hospitality management client in Los Angeles. This role reports to the Controller and involves overseeing all accounting and finance activities while managing a team of two. The ideal candidate will exhibit initiative, collaborative leadership, and outstanding communication skills. This hands-on position requires both fundamental accounting tasks and team mentoring.

Responsibilities

Oversee all operations within the Accounting department, focusing on Accounts Payable and enhancing PO and invoice approval workflows.

Identify and implement processes to improve expense management for property managers and directors.

Ensure adherence to departmental SOPs, developing and documenting accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and enhance efficiency.

Manage the asset capitalization (CIP) process, including the review, capitalization, and amortization of costs for all properties.

Assist the Controller with month-end closing and financial reporting.

Support the CFO in data requests for property insurance renewals, audits, IT consulting projects, state tax audits, and bank/lender reporting.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

5-8 years of accounting experience, including several years in a management role.

Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.

Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel.

Experience with accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Proven leadership skills and a compliance-oriented mindset.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Active CPA.

Previous experience in the hospitality industry.

Familiarity with PMS/POS systems.

Proficient in Power BI.
