ALTA IT is looking for a seasoned Accounting Project Manager to work with a government contractor in the DC Metro area.
The individual should have proven extensive knowledge and success with business process re-engineering, performing financial reconciliations, developing resource management strategies, conducting project-related assessments, and recommending solutions:
- Managing Federal programs/projects - involving process improvement, reconciliations, Governmentwide Treasury Account Symbol (GTAS), Journal Vouchers (JVs), IPAC, intragovernmental transactions, Property Plant & Equipment (PP&E), capitalization, depreciation, and financial statements
- Manages client initiatives, including resource management, executive readouts, project plans, activity management, and gateway communication.
- Sets priorities, meets deadlines, and makes decisions affecting the project
- Develop and implement financial compliance processes to monitor the organization's reliability compliance performance.
- Works collaboratively and acts in a lead role as a subject matter expert within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined measurement criteria.
- Develops short and long-range plans to prioritize issues, develop program objectives, obtain needed resources, and meet reliability compliance program objectives.
- Advises senior management team on a broad variety of reliability compliance, risk management, and strategic issues
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge serving in a leadership role (i.e., project lead, project manager, applying core project management processes as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Skills Required:
- 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 8+ years of Financial Management and transformation experience
- 8+ years of proven track record in supporting Public Sector projects
- Five years accounting project management
- 5+ years of providing support in the areas of reconciliations, GTAS, IPP, PP&E, and JVs.
- Identifying and addressing client needs: developing and sustaining deep client relationships using networking, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials and defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing, and collection.
- Leading teams to generate a vision, establishing direction and motivating members, creating an atmosphere of trust, leveraging diverse views, coaching staff, and actively promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
- Exceptional work ethic, work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines, use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
- Utilizing project management software and technologies, such as Microsoft Project with attention to details
- Familiarity with financial and operational internal controls is a plus.
- Familiarity with Federal Oracle Financials is required.
- Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is desired but not required.
- PMP certification is required.
