Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation is now seeking a Part Time Activities Assistant.

The activities assistant is accountable for, according to federal regulations, any endeavor, other than ADL's, in which a resident participates that is intended to enhance his/her sense of well-being and to promote or enhance physical, cognitive, and emotional health. These include, but are not limited to, activities that promote self esteem, pleasure, comfort, education, creativity, success, and independence.
Position Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Acquaints new residents to the activity department and the programs it provides.
Promotes a positive relationship between residents, families, and staff members.
Treats every resident with respect and dignity.
Assist with the development of appropriate activities to maintain relevance to each resident's personal identity, history, specific needs, interests, and cultural background.
Assist in evaluating residents likes and dislikes.
Assists in getting supplies for crafts, developing craft and activity ideas. Makes samples or demonstrates to stimulate interest.
Provides One to One programming for any resident who will not or cannot effectively plan their own activity pursuits or refuses to participate in larger groups
Assists in evaluating various programs and activities to maximize resident benefit.
Assist in planning activity programs.
Capable of presenting planned activity. Provide direction and equipment for completion of the activity.
Assist with special event/holiday decorating in the facility.
Maintains awareness of the needs and interest of the residents being served.
Operates all equipment and uses supplies in a safe and secure manner.
May be required to transport residents to outings with activities.
Adheres to the established facilities policies related to infection control and reducing the potential spread of infection.
Works cooperatively as part of the health care team.
Completes documentation in a timely and efficient manner. Maintains and promotes relationships with residents, visitors, other staff members, and government regulators by presenting a professional appearance and positive attitude.
Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding residents' rights and confidentiality.
Attends mandatory in-service functions.
Understands and follows safety and sanitation rules, practices safety in provision of services, and promptly reports any hazards or violations to a supervisor.
Performs additional functions or duties, as assigned by the supervisor.
*A high school diploma is required for this position.
*Prior experience as an activity aide or as a caregiver is preferred but not required!
