Target hiring range for this position will be between be $56,782.00 through $70,978.00 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Job Summary:

Collaborates with the Vice Chair of Research & Innovation on departmental projects. Oversees day-to-day operations including identifying & securing needed resources; creating, implementing, monitoring, & updating project plans; facilitating meetings with appropriate parties; tracking tasks/deliverables to ensure timelines, milestones &/or goals are attained; monitoring & reporting progress as appropriate; & resolving or escalating issues in a timely manner. He/she will develop policies and procedures to standardize certain key operations.

In addition, this role will participate in departmental strategic priority missions, including, but not limited to,

Departmental research benchmarks, implementing new policies and procedures and aiding in communications department-wide. He/she will manage Departmental data use agreements, access, and storage to ensure activities are completed by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and all current local, state, and federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy and procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH). Specific Responsibilities :

Administrative assistance in management of T32/R38 research trainees
  • Assist RA in RPPR progress reports
  • Aiding advertisement of trainees
  • Assisting in interview process including: collecting applications, scheduling interviews, aiding in notifying applicants if they have been awarded a position
Research Benchmarking
  • Weekly proposal, award tracker updating for VCR team to review and act in real time
Strategic Priority Research Projects
  • DOS Research communications (award notifications, research news)
  • DOS website updates
Assist in Managing Data Use Agreements, Data Access & Storage

Aiding in management of DoS R01 Bootcamp
  • Intake of applications
  • Management of necessary documents and associated tasks
  • Point of contact for participants and their needs
Managing Annual Space Survey and Capital Equipment Audits

Aiding in management of Surgery Health Outcomes Conference and SURPASS Conference

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 5 years' research study or other relevant experience required; OR
  • 2 years' administrative experience in an academic/research health care setting including budgets, finance, grants, facilities, &/or human resources; or other relevant experience.
