Job Summary/Basic Function
This position provides administrative support for Disability Services, a large, multi-functional department that provides accommodations and services to qualified individuals with disabilities based on federal mandates (ADA/AA and Section 504). This position provides significant support for planning, organizing, and implementing the functions, services, and workflow of the office.
This position will assist with office management, supervision of student employees, financial processes, and meeting/event support. The administrative specialist uses strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals on campus and in the community. The administrative specialist also exercises discretion, good judgement, and proper maintenance of confidentiality and privacy (FERPA) related to highly sensitive student information.

Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading., Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection).

Required Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma
- Two years of secretarial/administrative assistant experience.
- Computer/technology experience, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and web-based programs.
Preferred:
- Experience working in customer service environments and with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with supervision, purchasing, inventory, and budgets.
- Experience planning and managing events.
- Experience using data management systems, such as Banner, Clockwork, Accommodate, or similar.
