The George Mason University Office of Admissions seeks a part-time Admissions Operations Assistant. About the Position:

The Admissions Operations Assistant will serve as needed in a variety of Admissions Operations spaces, rotating to learn each units' roles and responsibilities serving as an agile team member.

The Office of Admissions serves students Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Total expected hours of work is 25-29 per week. This is an ongoing position, and we are seeking an individual who will become a long-term team member.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the daily review of undergraduate freshmen, transfers, graduate, and non-degree domicile statuses;
  • Process supporting domiciliary documentation;
  • Process transcripts or other supporting documentation;
  • Review of undergraduate non-degree admissions applications;
  • Respond to inquiries from a variety of sources and provide information to necessary parties in a timely and professional manner;
  • Serve as a back-up graduate processing specialist;
  • Provide administrative support to the admissions specialists and an enhanced customer service experience to our applicants;
  • Assist with processing credit by exams and transfer credit equivalencies; and
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned to help support the Office of Admissions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Comfortable working with a culturally and ethnically diverse population and possess exceptional cross-cultural communication skills;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Ability to learn policies and procedures quickly; and
  • Positive, friendly, and customer service-oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Data entry experience;
  • Banner Information System experience;
  • Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience; and
  • Bilingual.
