Position Summary

The Electromechanical Applications Engineer position focuses on the pre and post-sales support, product training, integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electromechanical motion control and drive solutions provided by Parker Hannifin's Electronic Motion and Controls Division. The Applications Engineer serves as the technical lead for pre and post sales opportunities and provides EMC Territory Managers, OEMs, distributors, integrators, and customers with technical product advice on the total motion or drive system solution. In addition, the Applications Engineer possesses the knowledge to not only integrate Parker products into the application but also understands how Parker's products are incorporated into an overall application.

Responsibilities

The following represents the essential and most significant duties of this position. It is not intended to exclude other duties, assignments, and responsibilities not mentioned herein:
• Provide applications and technical support to Territory Managers, ATC personnel, OEMs and End Customers.
• Assist in creation of marketing and support collateral as needed (design wins, whitepapers, videos, training docs, FAQ, etc.)
• Provide technical guidance and/or assistance during startups and commissioning as needed.
• Provide training to customers, distributors, and other Parker employees on Electronic Motion and Control division products.
• Present products, including proof of concept demonstrations, to customers in assistance with the TM or ATC Salesperson.
• Provide customer feedback to Product Managers on product needs, benefits, etc.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and confidentiality agreements.
• Share specialized knowledge with others and assists in mentoring new employees. May represent the company on specific projects or engineering tasks.
• Other duties as defined by organizational priorities and business needs.

Qualifications

• Engineering or Technical bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience with motion control or industrial control design and commissioning and/or supporting customer applications.
• Experience in technical support is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Motion and machine control programming experience (PLC programming)
• Experience with Industrial Networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, EtherCAT) is a plus
• Knowledge and experience in general purpose programming languages (VB, C++/C#) are a plus
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
• Must be able to read and create wiring diagrams and execute as needed
