Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
  • TO GIVE THE EMPLOYEE AN UNDERSTANDNIG OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES EXPECTED WHILE WORKING AS AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR IN VARIOUS DIVISIONS WITHIN PERIOPERATIVE SERVICES.

  • ANESTHESIA (OR & Labor & Delivery)


SUMMARY OF DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • DIRECTS AND SUPERVISES STAFF INVOLVING ALL OR AND ANESTHESIA SUPPLIES.REVIEWS AND EVALUATE THE WORK OF SUBORDINATES FOR EFFECTIVENESS, EFFICIENCY, AND COMPLIANCE WITH ESTABLISED RULES AND REGULATIONS.
  • REVIEWS ALL INVENTORYSTORE LEVELS.
  • REVIEWS AND DIRECTSSTAFF INVOLVING ALL EQUIPMENT PURCHASES, REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE.
  • APPROVES OVERTIME FOR STAFF WITHINOR AND ANESTHESIA DIVISONS OF PERIOPERATIVE SERVICES.
  • COMPLETES ANNUALS EVUALTION OF STAFF.
  • OVERSEES THE SCHEDULING OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
  • MANAGES NEW REQUISITIONS PROCESSES.
  • INTERFACES WITH ACCOUNT PAYABLE, CENTRAL RECEIVING, BUDGET AND PURCHASING DEPARTMENTS TO ENSURE TIMELY PAYMENT AND DELIVERY OF GOOD AND SERVICES
  • ARRANGES FOR THE DELIVERYAND EVALUATION OF NEW PRODUCTS
  • ASSIST WITH OR CHARGE POSTERS IN REVIEWS AND ENSURING THAT ALL SURGICAL AND PROCEDURAL LOGS ARE REVIEW AND CHARGES ARE POSTED PROMPTLY.
  • PROVIDE MISSING INFORMATION NEEDED TO RESOLVE ERRORS.
  • PREPARES, IMPLEMENTS AND/OR MONITORIMPORVED SYSTEMS AND PROCEDURES.
  • IDENTIFIES PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.
  • MONITOR SUPPLY LEVELS AND WORK DIRECTLYWITH VENDORS.
  • ATTENDS MANAGEMENT STAFF MEETING AND COMMITTEES WITH OR IN THE ABSENCE OF THE DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS.
  • PERFORMS ALL RELATED DUTIES IN THE DEPARTMENT WHEN CALLED UPON.


Duties & Responsibilities
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in hospital administration,
health care administration, public health or a related discipline; or
2. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as described in "1" above,
and one (1) year of administrative experience; or
3. An equivalent combination of training, college education and experience in related fields.
