Assistant Director Design and Planning

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Design and Planning is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the annual departmental strategic plan and goals, aligning with the mission, philosophy, and strategic objectives of FHSC, Inc. This role oversees space utilization, architecture, interior design, engineering, and construction services to support hospital facilities. Additionally, the position assists with property management, real estate development, and leasing initiatives across the health system. Compliance with interim life safety measures and Tampa General Hospital (TGH) policies is essential, occasionally requiring work outside of regular business hours. The Assistant Director must respond promptly to communications and ensure all duties are performed in accordance with TGH's mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

• Degree: Bachelor's Degree Architecture, Bachelor's Engineering or bachelor's degree related field
• License/Registration - Registered Architect or Registered Professional Engine
• A minimum of five (5) years as a licensed Architect, Engineer, or Contractor, with at least three (3) years of experience in the healthcare sector.
• Strong focus on design and construction within hospital facilities, including expertise in space utilization and project management.
• A minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role is required.
• The role may also involve signing and sealing departmental projects.
