POSITION SUMMARY

UT Southwestern has an opening for the position of Assistant Director Development, Development Programs. This position will fulfill a key role on the fundraising team for UT Southwestern's Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, contributing to advancement of the Cancer Center's clinical, research, and educational initiatives. The position reports to the Director of Development for Cancer Programs and works collaboratively with all members of the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree.

• Three (3) years demonstrated successful fundraising or related sales/client advising experience,

PREFERRED

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred due to the sensitive nature of communications with current and former cancer patients and their family members.

JOB DUTIES

• Identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individuals capable of making gifts of $10,000+.

• Manage and develop a portfolio of prospective donors and implement solicitation and engagement strategies.

• Work closely with Director of Development for Cancer Programs, assisting with fundraising initiatives.

• Write letters, case statements, and proposals related to cancer patient care and research.

• Utilize constituent relationship management system (The Raiser's Edge) to record and track prospect and donor activity and capture performance metrics.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
