Responsibilities

Including but not limited to the following:
Analysis of power systems operations and control
Perform transient time-domain simulations of electrical power systems in general and real-time simulations in particular
Conduct power hardware-in-the-loop experiments for testing of novel power hardware.
Conduct controller hardware-in-the-loop experiments using real-time-simulator platforms.
Supervising students.
Writing reports and presenting research results to others (incl. conferences).

Qualifications

Master's degree or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or similar.
Must be eligible to work on a project subject to US export control restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience and proficiency in the transient time-domain simulations of electrical power systems in general and real-time simulation specifically.
Understanding of design, build, operation, and control of power electronic converters.
Experience using any of the following specialized software: Matlab (incl. Simulink and Simscape), RTDS, OPAL-RT, Typhoon-HIL, PSIM, ANSYS, and SolidWorks.
Proficiency with scripting languages and/or programming languages.
Onsite presence in Tallahassee.
