Florida State University Panama City (FSU PC) offers a well-established, nationally recognized, top-ranked Master's Degree program in Psychology with a major in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) that serves students at both the FSU Tallahassee and Panama City campuses. The FSU ABA Master's program is accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) and emphasizes a scientist practitioner model in providing students the education, training, and supervised clinical experiences required to sit for the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst exam (BCBA) upon graduation. In addition to the ABA Master's program, FSU PC also offers a Bachelor's Degree program in Psychology, which includes courses in Clinical, Cognitive, Developmental, and Social Psychology, as well as Neuroscience and Behavior Analysis.

Responsibilities

The position will consist of in-person instruction, student mentorship, graduate student clinical case study supervision, and program service responsibilities. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Teach in-person courses in both the ABA Master's program and the undergraduate Psychology program at FSU Panama City,
  • Provide mentorship to students.
  • Engage in course and curriculum development.
  • Serve as a core faculty member in the ABA Master's program.
  • Engage in teaching innovations to facilitate high-quality instruction.
  • Participate in service to the Psychology Programs and Campus.
  • Maintain a faculty advisory role for graduate student clinical case studies that align with the accreditation standards of the program - additional research opportunities are possible, though not specifically required for this teaching faculty position.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or related field with doctoral preparation in Behavior Analysis/ABA (ABD will be considered).
  • Clinical experience in the application of ABA across a variety of health-related populations (e.g., autism, aging, mental health, etc.) and a minimum of two years of experience teaching at the university level.
  • Doctoral level behavior analyst who meets requirements for teaching in an ABAI-accredited, VCS program.
  • Experience in conducting and overseeing applied research and mentoring student engagement with research and/or clinical projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a board-certified behavior analyst.
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses across different areas in behavior analysis and Psychology (e.g., grad-level courses in Ethics, Skinner's Theory of Behaviorism, Research Methods, Basic Principles of Behavior, and a breadth of undergraduate areas).
  • Experience with BACB credentialing requirements and ABAI accreditation policies, experience working with and mentoring individuals seeking BACB certification.
  • Demonstrated, superior ability to teach high-quality courses at the university level.

Considerations

This is a Faculty position and is being advertised as a specialized teaching faculty position with opportunities for promotion and multi-year contracts.

The salary will be competitive, and the rank of the appointment will depend on level of experience and qualifications.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check .
