Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

The Criminology Program invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor appointment for the Academic Year 2025-2026, specialization open. Preferred candidates will be those able and willing to teach Criminological Theory and other elective courses in their area of specialization.
The Department is seeking faculty to participate in collaborative efforts to foster teaching effectiveness, assessment of student learning, creative scholarship and research, and those interested in developing new course offerings.

The Criminology Department at DePaul University is a new and rapidly growing undergraduate major in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Located on DePaul's Lincoln Park campus in Chicago, the Department provides students with an in-depth understanding of the various aspects of the criminal legal system. DePaul's Criminology major emphasizes critical thinking, strong analytical and writing skills, ethical considerations, and social justice. The major includes three concentration areas: Community Justice, Criminal Justice Administration, and Race, Class, Gender and the Criminal Legal System.
With an overall enrollment of over 22,000 students, DePaul is the nation's twelfth largest private non-profit university. While the university is large, class sizes for typically do not exceed 35 students. We seek candidates with a demonstrated record of effectiveness as the instructor for a variety of courses or teaching environments, ability to teach at the undergraduate level, commitment to continued development as an educator, and active engagement in high-quality research.
Required Qualifications:
The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or closely related field, with demonstrated effective teaching and research experience in the area of criminology or criminal justice. ABD candidates with significant progress toward dissertation completion and individuals with lived experiences are encouraged to apply.
Candidates invited to campus as part of the interview process will be asked to complete two presentations to students and faculty: one research and one teaching presentation.
