Academic Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Physician

The University of Tennessee, Graduate School of Medicine, the Knoxville regional campus of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, TN, seeks a dynamic leader and academician to join the faculty in the Divis ion of Pulmonary and Critical Medicine in the Department of Medicine. This position is a non-tenure track, academic appointment that offers a highly competitive compensation package with full benefits, malpractice insurance, relocation assistance, and production-based incentive.

This position will be a joint position with University Health System, the clinical entity on the campus, and it offers an ideal opportunity to practice excellent medicine, teach and have a productive research and academic career in a collaborative environment.

The Department of Medicine includes 17 divisions and comprises more than 150 faculty members dedicated to the tripartite mission of clinical care, education, and research. In addition to thriving Internal Medicine Residency and Transitional Year programs there are well established fellowships in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and lnterventional Cardiology and plans are underway for expansion into additional areas.

In-hospital services are provided at UT Medical Center, the region's only academic medical center. Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellows, Internal Medicine residents and mid-level providers assist in in-hospital floor and ICU coverage. The Pulmonary Division is recognized for providing exceptional clinical care and teaching for fellows, residents and medical students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include eligibility to obtain a license to practice medicine in Tennessee. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and qualifications. The candidate will have dedicated time for pursuing academic and scholarly activity and will support efforts to promote research within the Department. Candidates must also commit to diversity and equal opportunity. The candidate must be board certified by the American Board or American Osteopathic Board in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

We are seeking a physician researcher with an established reputation at a national or international level in their field of expertise and a strong track record of publications and scholarly activity to join 15 division faculty members in a hospit al -owned employed practice.
