Position Summary:
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position (non-tenure track) to join a community of dedicated educators. This position has renewable, three-year contracts. Our new colleague will teach general chemistry lecture and laboratory courses, and at least one other specialty that is open to a range of sub-disciplines. We seek candidates whose teaching, research, and/or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to engagement and inclusion of our increasingly diverse student body.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching undergraduate chemistry lecture and laboratory courses for a diverse student body from a broad range of majors is expected, with additional opportunities at the graduate level based on department needs. Collaboration with colleagues, especially when teaching multi-section courses, is common and encouraged. Service contributions at the level of Department, College, and/or University are expected as a key component of this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. or a postdoc in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field, and significant teaching experience at the postsecondary level are required. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is essential, and examples of course development and/or the implementation of modern pedagogical methods are valued.
