The successful candidate will perform a variety of functions and work collaboratively to assist the Dean of Students and associated offices.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an Administrative Hearing and Agreed Resolution Officer, and Hearing Advisor
  • Follow up with assigned Care Team students to discern concerns and triage to appropriate resources across campus
  • Assist with various initiatives and projects including student development programming
  • Serve as a liaison with other university offices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in counseling, education, student affairs, or related field preferred
  • Organized, efficient and effective while managing a work environment that involves interruptions, and regular requests for immediate action or response
  • Excellent personal interaction and teamwork skills, including communication (verbal and written), listening, empathy, compromise, and thoughtful participation
  • Ability to handle triage situations, knowing the appropriate offices, resources, and proper referrals
  • Previous experience with student conduct or disciplinary programs preferred.
  • Previous experience with individual student advising/coaching or resource referral preferred.
Additional Information:

This is a part-time, non-exempt, temporary wage position limited to an average of 29 hours per week and 1500 hours maximum per work year. Pay band 3. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany this position. A successful criminal background investigation is required.
