Summary: The Finance Department in the College of Business at New Mexico State University is seeking to fill two tenure track positions at the Assistant/Associate rank.

Classification Summary:Seeking applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in Finance at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor beginning August 19, 2025.

Classification Standard Duties:Responsibilities include research that is publishable in peer-reviewed academic journals in finance, teaching a diverse study body at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service to the department, college, and university committees. Responsibilities may also include advising student organization(s), performing professional and community service, and identifying and cultivating relationships in the finance and banking industry.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency

Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in Finance or Business Administration (Finance) from an AACSB-accredited institution. Applicants who have completed all the requirements of their Ph.D. program and are in their dissertation stage, i.e., ABD (All But Dissertation Stage) may also apply and will be considered. ABD applicants should have a completed Ph.D. in Finance or Business Administration (Finance) by July 31, 2025.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The applicant will serve as an academic and career advisor/mentor for students, including identifying and (possibly) supervising internship opportunities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidate(s) will demonstrate an effective teaching record and scholarly research. Willingness to teach both online and face-to-face is a must. We welcome applications from candidates in all areas of finance. Having a CFA designation (or completed at least one level) is a plus. We need a candidate who can also teach banking and financial markets and institutions for one of the positions.
