The Associate Director of Development will assist Development leadership in executing various fundraising initiatives, events and campaigns. They will focus on communicating the value of giving and the importance of maintaining/growing donor relationships. The AD has significant responsibilities including but not limited to acknowledgment, engagement, and communications to steward, cultivate, and upgrade donors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under direction, works closely and assists in supporting frontline fundraisers to create meaningful stewardship plans for donors. Ensures timely and accurate data entry related to the department's activities, including the recording of contact reports. Analytical, well-organized, ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously, and consistently meets all deadlines. Able to initiate and complete projects and provide donor support with little supervision, exercising good judgment Building relationships with Schools and Programs across LU, lending support and strategic direction to their stewardship efforts. Assists with identifying and creating compelling and thoughtful stewardship initiatives that demonstrates impact of donor support. Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups. Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing highly sensitive documents and information. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. High level of professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of audiences including faculty, students, advancement colleagues, university staff, and donors. Detail Oriented Two years relevant experience in fundraising and relationship building in non-profit or university settings or a combination of education and experience. Experience with Fundraising CRM/database systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with others. Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences.

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. Working environment also includes facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.

Driving Requirements

Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
