Job Description

Mizzou Marketing works collaboratively with academic leadership and the university's marketing professionals to create a marketing strategy that is consistent with the university's overall brand and that supports the institution's Strategic Enrollment Plan.

The Associate Director of Mizzou Marketing reports to the Director of Mizzou Marketing. Operating within a centralized marketing model, this position will initiate, develop, plan, strengthen and implement innovative processes, technology enhancements and best practices with a continuous improvement mindset. This position plays a pivotal role in developing, executing and analyzing digital marketing strategies to enhance the university's online presence, support student recruitment and promote academic programs. This position manages a team that collaborates closely with various departments to ensure cohesive and effective digital marketing campaigns as well as researching current trends incorporating them into the strategic marketing plan supporting the institution's overall strategic goals. This position is the primary liaison with outside agencies ensuring that campaigns are accurately placed, optimized and reported.
The Associate Director is a highly visible department leader, supporting an extensive group of internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent must have effective marketing, communication, and leadership skills.

This is an in-person/on-campus position. Reimbursement of relocation expenses is available.

Position Responsibilities
Strategy Development & Monitoring:
• Assesses the competitive landscape, developing and recommending effective strategies for brand awareness, in-seat and online program recruitment.
• Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing plans that align with the university's goals and objectives. Ensure campaigns are data-driven, results-oriented, and aligned with brand standards.
• Evaluate & oversee testing protocols and procedures, DMA and audience insights for all digital campaigns to determine best audience response and use of budget. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve campaign effectiveness and ROI.
• Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and industry best practices to inform marketing initiatives.

Leadership:
• Lead and mentor a team of digital marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Oversee the ad spend budget related to brand awareness and recruitment campaigns.
• Collaborate with other internal units, external agencies and other vendor partners to build strategy, guide ad purchases and monitor performance. Manage day-to-day activities of agency relationship and paid ad placements.
• Communicate digital marketing plans, progress, and results to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience marketing higher education to prospective students and families.
2. Ability to lead teams through competing and rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
3. At least 3 years experience in digital marketing and advertising strategy development, corporate communications, higher education or something similar

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000/year

Grade: GGS-12
